Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth….Eccl. 12:1

Welcome to the Briarwood Christian School Counseling Center. God can do so much in the life that’s given over to Him, especially when that life is in the spring of its youth. It is an immense privilege to help guide the lives of our students. It’s a sacred trust we’re given to mentor, model, and help direct our students into the fulfillment of God’s purposes for them. Our purpose is to honor the promise of their youth in Christ Jesus and do all we can to ensure that each student is given ample opportunity and encouragement in their pursuit of God’s unique plan. In addition to leading our students through their process of seeking God’s will for their academic and professional careers, our guidance center is dedicated to providing relevant, up-to-date, and comprehensive information for academic and personal growth, college admissions, and testing materials.

Our offices are located on the first floor in the High School building. The School Counseling Department serves to provide individualized care and attention in assisting students with reaching their highest academic and personal potential. We view ourselves as an extension of the families we serve. Dedicated to developing supportive, meaningful, and ongoing relationships with students and parents, our goal is to ensure that every family is given the support and encouragement they need to make informed, prayerful decisions concerning the direction of each student’s life. All sessions are strictly confidential and will not be shared with others unless requested by the student or parent. Exceptions to confidentiality are threat to self or others and disclosures of abuse or neglect. In the rare case when confidentiality must be broken, the student will be informed and supported appropriately.

Some of the specific services the School Counseling Center offers are addressing and providing support for mental health, emotional and social issues, study skills, referrals for psycho-educational testing, career counseling, ACT/SAT test prep, tutors, coordinating on campus visits with college admission representatives, course scheduling, Honors/AP Placement, college recommendations, transcript requests, scholarship opportunities, college admission publications, college fair opportunities, leadership/community service opportunities, resume consulting, monthly School Counseling newsletter, and information on military opportunities.

We invite parents and students to explore the School Counseling Center page to become better acquainted with our various services and programs.
