Photography I

Photography I is an introduction into the world of digital photography.  Students will learn the basic elements and principles of design, the mechanics of a camera, how to form interesting compositions, and how to upload and manipulate pictures in Adobe Photoshop. Throughout the course students will study noted photographers and their unique styles in order to help them develop a style of their own.  The semester begins with discussions and design projects to help the students begin thinking of photography as an art form and means of communication.  Note: Students must have access to their own digital camera(point and shoot or dSLR) to take this class.  Camera phones will not suffice.

Photography II

Photography II is a continuation of digital Photography I.  Students will practice refining their skills in Photoshop as well as create abstract ways of displaying their photographs. Students will learn more advanced techniques and have opportunities to practice skills learned previously.
